I've been wanting to start a blog on shopping for some time now. I just wasn't sure how I wanted to frame it. Well, I think I've found an angle. There are a lot of negative shopping experiences out there, but I'd like to emphasize the positive ones. I'd like to focus on sharing news about fabulous deals and service. I'd also like to provide tips on how to find and identify good deals, save money, and where to look for specialized or certain categories of merchandise.
I will point out sites or stores where I've found some great bargains or promotions, or sometimes might even highlight places in advance of a promotion. You might say, what good is this info if it's "after the fact?" Well, I'm hoping that by pointing out the good experiences, you'll get an idea of which places to frequent or "follow", because usually once you find a good thing, it continues to go in that direction. At least that's what I'm hoping.
So to introduce myself as the "Shopping Maven", I thought I should review my credentials:
1. I love to shop.
2. I have xx years of experience shopping, both in-store and online (make that mucho years).
3. I am an experienced negotiator when it comes to dealing with retailers. Hopefully I can parlay this experience into useful advice for readers of this blog so that others can find more optimal ways of dealing with returns, exchanges, potential problems, etc.--thereby making everyone's shopping experiences more positive.
4. I can usually find just about any type of product (well, within reason).
5. Did I mention I love to shop?
6. Oh, and I'm a major proponent of e-commerce.
So hope to share some of my shopping insight and wisdom with potential buyers out there--both those who love and those who hate to shop.
